The domestic Benoît ecosystem embodies all the advanced developments in the domain of careful storage of cigars. Some of them have know-how which have no analogues. What are the advantages of using these automatic humidors-refrigerators? Why is Benoît called an ecosystem?

The main question is what makes the Benoît ecosystem special? The classic definition of the term states that an ecosystem is a structure that unites living organisms and their interaction with each other. The living organisms in this case are cigars. Over the entire storage period, hundreds of thousands of different biochemical processes occur in tobacco products that affect its taste and aroma. They are extremely dependent on various conditions: temperature, humidity, air flow and illumination. It is extremely important to have the right conditions created for cigars if they are to be kept for a long time.

On the other hand, short-term storage also has its own necessary parameters and by complying with them the natural authenticity of cigars in ideal shape is multiplied. It would seem a no-brainer – put the cigars in the dark space of a damp wooden humidor, and everything will be fine. But it's far from that. The safety of cigars is affected not only by the level of moisture, but also by the general environment: comfortable temperature, light blowing and a run of moist air, absence of vibrations and ultraviolet.

You can achieve this manually. But this will take a lot of time, effort and money. Is it really worth it? What does the consumer get ultimately? This way, the consumer knows that his current stocks are kept in optimal conditions. When taking a cigar out of the humidor, one can rest assured that the cigar has been given complete comfort. After all, it is then that the cigar can delight you with a whole variety of flavors and aromas.

It is quite often, however, that people are somewhat lazy and inert. Let's face it. Not everyone would go to the bother of taking care of their cigars. It is always simple: here are my cigars, here is my time-tested wooden humidor. I put my cigars in it, refill my moisturizing cassettes or put a couple of bags of Boveda in it, and that's it! I just take them out on occasion to savor a moment of life.

There is nothing to be frowned upon here. Cigars are kept in humidity, in the dark and not alone. But, believe me, when you store the same cigars in an ordinary desk drawer and exactly the same ones in an automatic humidor, when you try the ones from the automatic humidor, they taste much better.

Much, much better. Tobacco products fair much better in a controlled and well-adjusted mode of temperature and humidity. You can't create such conditions out of thin air. You need special equipment, for example, our Benoît ecosystem. Returning to the term of ecosystem, I need to say that this is a complex thing with each element having its own importance. If something is amiss with one of them, then it affects all the other elements in the system. For cigars, this means that they mature in a different way without being able to show their full potential. Thus, we voluntarily deprive ourselves of part of the taste and aroma making our treasures less noble and more pale.
