Depending on personal experience, goals, the required number of cigars and budget, systems of cigar storage can be divided into several groups. Let's look at the most popular devices, as well as their upsides and downsides.

The easiest and cheapest way to store packages is with a zip lock in combination with the Boveda system. Cigars are placed in polyethylene with a bag of Boveda placed inside as a moisturizing element. Suitable for storing cigars both individually and in boxes. This method is perfect for short-term storage or transportation of cigars. The downsides: no way to maintain the correct temperature for long-term storage; low reliability in maintaining optimal humidity due to unintentional opening of the lock; ingress of outside dry air inside the package.

Wooden table humidor. The obvious upsides: outstanding appearance; ability to store individual pieces for everyday smoking; contact of cigars with wood the aroma and properties of which enrich the cigars; stylish and prestigious element of decor. Humidifier cassettes and/or the Boveda system are used as a moisturizing element. The main downsides: medium or poor tightness; cigars must be specially prepared before being placed inside and constant monitoring is needed. Table humidor made of wood does not maintain the desired temperature. One cannot store cigars in boxes in it. It is also expensive.

Tupperdor/plastic container with a lid. In essence, these types of devices are boxes made of plastic available different volumes with lids tightly closed. Suitable for storage of cigars of several types and packages, depending on the quantity and volume of tobacco products. The sealing of these products is medium; they are inexpensive, a constant temperature cannot be maintained; special cassettes or the Boveda system act as a moisturizing element. Suitable for medium-term storage for five years. Cedar veneer can be added inside for extra aromatization.

Acrylic humidor. An expensive variety of previous devices. Beautiful in appearance, medium sealing, high cost.

Road humidor. It can be attributed to a variety of tupperdores and plastic containers. The road humidor is designed to transport cigars, not to store them. The Boveda system serves as a moisturizing element. Small number of stored cigars, relatively low cost, medium sealing. Suitable for short shelf life.

Wooden humidor cabinet. Upsides: ideal as an element of decor and prestige, able to store tobacco products in boxes. Downsides: poor or medium sealing properties, uneven humidity depending on the level of shelves and the humidification elements used, no way to maintain the required temperature, high cost.

Wooden humidor cabinet with built-in automatic humidity maintenance system. It is a kind of the previous humidor, the main downsides of which are that this product does not maintain the desired temperature, has poor sealing and is very expensive.

Wine cabinet/tupperdore. This product solves the problem of maintaining a constant temperature inside the cabinet. The humidity level is maintained inside the self-contained tupperdores located on the shelves. The Boveda system or a cassette with polymer elements acts as a humidifier. The only downside is that it is very expensive.

Walk-In Humidor. The automated climate control system allows for creating perfect conditions, maintaining temperature and humidity, suitable for storing tobacco products for different periods: short, medium and long. This walk-in humidor is perfect for private ownership and for commercial use in stores. The downsides: poor or average sealing; creating such a room is highly expensive.

Automatic humidor refrigerator. The best solution for any periods of storage and purposes of storage, which are achieved through a programmable control unit. The upsides: ability to select the required humidor-refrigerator for any interiors and types of premises, a prestigious and high-tech device. The only disadvantage would be its high cost.

The equilibrium moisture content is the percentage of moisture content in a hygroscopic material (cigar), at which it does not gain or lose moisture. It depends on temperature and relative humidity.
